Our Mission

Restoration men’s residential addiction ministry exists to glorify God by helping men overcome addiction through the good news of Jesus Christ. Restoration’s two associated businesses – Restoration Sawmill and Hardwood and Restoration Nursery – were started to support the mission of Restoration men’s ministry.

Men who are seeking to overcome addiction are given a second chance and opportunity to learn skills and character that are crucial to their long-term success after the program through the sawmill and the nursery.

Men learn:

  • The value of hard work and excellence in their job as a way to love others and serve their community.

  • How to work in a way that produces resources and benefits others rather than living in a way that consumes and drains resources.

  • How to appropriately interact with a boss and co-workers which leads to a productive career rather than terminations and job-hopping.

Our Team

Greg Wetterlin - Pastor and Director, Restoration Ministries

Overseeing Restoration Ministries since it began in 2016, Greg has also led the development of Restoration Sawmill and Hardwoods and Restoration Nursery in 2017 and 2018 respectively. Greg was born and raised in Littleton, CO but came to Purdue University in 2008 to study Mechanical Engineering. Shortly after completing his degree, he went on to pursue a Master’s of Divinity from Faith Bible Seminary and was hired as a pastor of Faith Church to launch Restoration Ministries. He and his wife Erika have been married since 2013 and her help and support have been instrumental in the launch and success of Restoration.

Matt Hurja - Nursery Manager, Restoration Nursery

Matt attended Michigan State University and graduated with a certificate in Landscape and Nursery Management in ‘87. At the age of 20 he was confronted with the need to trust Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. After working as a Nursery Manager for six years, he took an opportunity to study the Bible at the Word of Life Bible Institute in upstate New York. Matt, his wife, Petra, and their family have had the opportunity to minister in Florida, Germany, Missouri, and Washington. Combining both his passions, discipling men and nursery work, Matt began Restoration Nursery in the spring of 2018 along with the help of his sons, residents, and many wonderful volunteers.

Joe Fornwall - Sawmill Manager, Restoration Sawmill & Hardwoods

Joe and his wife, Carlee, have been married for 12 years with 3 children: Jackson, Colton, and Claire. Restoration changed Joe and his family’s life over 5 years ago when he became a resident and then graduate from Restoration. Joe developed a desire while at Restoration not only to live for Christ but specifically to pour his life back into guys who are seeking to overcome addiction like he was. He now serves as the manager of Restoration Sawmill and Hardwoods.

“The work itself is rewarding, but the greater reward is being able to work with men to help them overcome their life-dominating issues.”

Nick Buono - Intern, Restoration Nursery

Nick graduated from Purdue University in 2021 with a Forestry and Natural Resources degree and a Wildlife Sciences degree. He loves trees and the outdoors as well as Jesus, and Restoration Nursery has been a perfect place to volunteer and work where those two passions can be used together. Nick will be attending Faith Bible Seminary in the fall of 2022–2025 and is hoping to be able to combine a Master’s of Divinity degree with his forestry degree in order to serve the Lord and others.
