Our Why

giving men a 2nd chance at life

Started in 2016 as a ministry of Faith Church, Restoration Men’s Residential Ministry’s purpose is to serve single and married men, ages 18 and over, who desire help from a faith-based ministry to change from a life of alcohol addiction, drug and substance abuse, or any life dominating addiction. Men in the program support themselves, gain life skills and cultivate an attitude of diligence by working in the nursery and sawmill.

 

ABOUT THE MINISTRY

We believe that every life is valuable and together we can effect lasting change through a Christ-centered residential program.

Restoration Sawmill and Hardwoods’ portable sawmill and custom hardwood products are created with excellence by men pursuing a second chance. Meaningful hard work is a blessing and responsibility that God has charged men with, and Restoration Sawmill and Hardwoods provides an outlet for its residents to develop a God-honoring work ethic that, in turn, helps to provide financially for their training.

And the fact that the business is really a recovery ministry makes it all the more special. In 2021 we decided to harvest a dying pine tree our daughter planted in 1990 that she had been given by her third-grade teacher and have it made into an eight-foot table and bench. When we discovered that Restoration Sawmill and Hardwoods could be a one-stop-shop for us, we visited their location and reviewed their work, which we found exceptional. We love our Third Grade Tree Table.
